The daughter of a surgeon and a diplomat, Olivia King Canter Olivia King Canter was born in New York City, raised in Connecticut, and returned to New York to study at Barnard College in New York.

After several years working in the entertainment industry, Olivia moved to Cuba where she lived for closed to 10 years (1996-2005.) There, she was initiated as a priestess of Yemaya in the Lucumi tradition and developed her abilities as a trans-medium in the school of Espiritismo, apprenticing with several renowned espiritistas in Havana.

In 2005, Olivia returned to New York with her then young son, reentering the television industry while conducting regular “misas espirituales” in her home in Brooklyn. She offered individual consultations in person, by phone, and via e-mail.

Olivia now resides in London and is writing a book about her Cuba experiences, negotiating television programming and contracts in five continents, and still on the occasion conducts misas in her home in London.

Her favorite things in the world at the moment include her son [pictured walking with her in the background picture], his new cat, Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, and Cereal, the magazine.
